London: Pastel Dream

It's rainy, gloomy days like today that make me miss my days back in Europe. Ironically, the next post I have up is set in an equally gloomy city: London. However, that doesn't make it any less beautiful (although that just might be my romanticizing the feeling of being in a different city). Due to my incredible procrastination skills, I decided to just stop naming these photosets "Travel Diary" and just instead post.

What better place to enjoy a nice morning meal than at Borough Market, which was conveniently only a few blocks away from our hotel. Go figure. I love the array of all foods and vibrant drinks, although I could go without the lingering fishy smell, but that's ignore-able.

Fact: One can never take too many pictures of pretty flowers.

I was so excited to finally see a "Before I die.." wall in person! Although that excitement soon turned to slight disappointment as I realized that I had no chalk to make my own contribution with. That's alright. I still took a picture. (PS, I would've said "get rich.")

It still shocks me that people actually live in these houses. I mean, that gate costs more than I do. Anyways, Kensington Palace was stunning, and I loved wandering the gardens and admiring the flora. Little upset I didn't get to see Prince George though, considering I am his number 1 fan.

Felt like Alice looking through the Looking-Glass / going into Wonderland for a second.

Our next and final stop was one of the ones I was looking the most forward to: Portobello Road and Notting Hill!

The two most contrasting neighbourhoods: Notting Hill and Portobello Road. I'll start with the crisp, pristine houses of Notting Hill. There's something so calm, classy, and romantic about the lineup of white houses adorned with the matching white or bright red flowers. It feels like such a dream. I can just see myself living there, and constantly colour-coordinating my outfits to match (who says you can't wear white year-round?).

On the other end of the spectrum we have the pretty pastel houses of Portobello Road! As a lover of all things pastel, it's safe to say that my heart grew three times its size the moment I laid my eyes on the row of coloured homes. It's so quirky and cute; I'd love to just live in one of these homes, especially the bubblegum pink or baby blue. Looking back at these are giving me major London feels.

Fun fact: this is exactly what I do before posing for pictures. It's my go-to "lighting check" pose. Sigh, the struggles of not knowing what to do.

 The finished (less awkward) product!!

I'll end my series of coloured houses with this rainbow neighbourhood! Doesn't strike my feels as much as the pastel houses, but just as pretty to look at.
